As a kiwi I have never heard of nz style ice cream 🤔 but I see it's like real fruit ice cream! The best!

Bbq looks amazing too

LOL Marielle I’ve been wondering about whether this is something they made up or if it’s a real thing. But yes the ice cream base is not too sweet and they purée fresh fruit into it

Yeah its a classic summer roadtrip treat in NZ at all of the berry/fruit orchards but I prefer it with frozen yoghurt hehe

I feel a similar tension about where I live. I’m not terribly far from family (a 6 hour drive) but not close enough to pop over to their place for an evening. I moved to where I currently live 11 years ago for undergrad, and have built a life here. It feels like I’m living in a place that makes it easier to live in alignment with my values, and it feels like home. But I miss being close to my family, and wonder if the ease and support associated with that was worth giving up. For me it’s a situation without a right answer, but I think I’ll always feel that ache of being split between two places.
